Terms of Service

By signing in to or using medlog, you agree to these terms. If you do not, do not use it. medlog is run by an independent developer and is offered free of charge.

These terms work alongside the Privacy Policy, which explains what happens to your data.

medlog keeps records. It does not diagnose, prescribe, advise or decide anything about your treatment. Nothing it shows you — a schedule, a duration, a note about what a medicine is generally used for, a lab value shown against a reference range — is a clinical judgement about you, and none of it comes from a doctor who has seen you.

Do not start, stop, change or skip a medicine because of something in this app. Ask your doctor or pharmacist. They have the information the app does not: the rest of your history, the examination, and the reason they wrote what they wrote.

If you think you are having a medical emergency, stop reading and call your local emergency number. Never delay medical care because of anything you saw here.

medlog reads photographs of documents automatically. Handwriting, bad light, a folded page, an unfamiliar abbreviation and an unusual brand name all produce mistakes, and a confident-looking mistake is the most dangerous kind on a medical record.

The product is built to reduce that risk rather than pretend it does not exist: nothing reaches your record until you have looked at it, fields it was unsure about are marked, gaps are left as gaps, and the original photograph is kept alongside every reading so that it can always be checked.

That last part is also the deal. You are responsible for checking what was read against the document you photographed. The original is the truth; the record is a convenience built on top of it.

You must be 18 or older to hold an account. You may keep records for the people you care for, including children, inside your own account.

Accounts are created by signing in with Google, so the security of your medlog account is the security of that Google account. Keep it protected, and tell us if you believe someone else has reached your record.

One account is one person’s to control. Do not share sign-in access with anyone you would not show every document in it.

Use medlog for keeping your own medical records and those of people you are entitled to keep records for. Do not:

• Upload another person’s medical documents without their permission or your authority to act for them.
• Use it to break the law, or to harm or deceive anyone.
• Try to reach data that is not yours, probe the service for weaknesses without permission, or work around its security.
• Scrape it, resell it, or build a competing service out of its output.
• Automate it in a way that loads the service unreasonably, or upload content that is unlawful or malicious.

If you find a security problem, report it to iambasith123@gmail.com rather than exploiting it. That report is welcome, not a problem.

You keep every right you had in the documents and information you put into medlog. Uploading does not give us ownership of anything.

You give us only the permission needed to operate the service for you: to store your files, to display them back to you, to have them read by the processing service described in the Privacy Policy, and to keep backups. That permission covers nothing else, ends when you delete the content, and does not include publishing it, sharing it, or using it to train models.

You confirm that you have the right to upload what you upload, and that it is not somebody else’s to keep private.

medlog is free and is provided without any promise of uptime. Features may be added, changed or removed, and the service may be interrupted for maintenance, by a failure at a provider we depend on, or for reasons outside our control.

If the service were ever to be shut down, you would be given reasonable notice and a chance to get your data out.

Keep your own copies of documents that matter. Treat medlog as a convenient, organised copy of your paperwork, not as the only copy of it.

You can stop using medlog whenever you like, and you can ask for your account and everything in it to be deleted by writing to iambasith123@gmail.com.

We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms, to endanger other people’s data, or to damage the service. Where it is reasonable to warn you first, we will.

To the extent the law allows, medlog is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. In particular, there is no warranty that a document will be read correctly or completely, that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it is fit for any clinical purpose.

Some consumer protection laws give you rights that cannot be excluded. Nothing here takes those away.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, medlog and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, for lost data, or for any harm arising from a decision made about health or treatment on the basis of what the app displayed rather than on the advice of a qualified professional.

Because the service is provided free of charge, total liability for any claim connected with it is limited to the amount you have paid for it, which is nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

medlog runs on infrastructure operated by other companies — sign-in, hosting, storage and document reading — as described in the Privacy Policy. Their failures can become our outages, and their terms apply to their own systems. We choose them carefully and we do not control them.

These terms may be updated, and the date at the top will say when they last were. If a change matters, you will be told by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use medlog afterwards means you accept the revised terms; if you do not, stop using it and ask for your account to be deleted.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you use medlog from somewhere else, you are responsible for complying with your own local law. If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
